Datacard Group Increases Support for the Midwest's Largest Affordable Housing Agency
Contributions to CommonBond Communities go beyond cash donations
MINNETONKA, MINN — April 6, 2011 — Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, today announced it will serve as a presenting sponsor for the 13th annual GrandeGala, a fundraising event held April 8, 2011 by CommonBond Communities at the St. Paul River Centre.
CommonBond Communities, the Midwest's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing with services, has supported low-income families and seniors in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa for more than 40 years. The organization develops, owns and manages more than 5,000 affordable rental apartments and townhomes throughout 50 cities.
Approximately 8,000 people — typically low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities — reside in CommonBond properties. More than 2,000 of those served are children and on average, resident household income is $14,000 per year.
Datacard Group’s chief executive officer, Todd Wilkinson, serves on the CommonBond Communities board of directors and several Datacard employees are active volunteers in activities ranging from individual mentoring to property maintenance.
