Datacard Group Announces the Release of CardWizard® Software Version 5.3

New features enable optimum functionality for instantly issuing smart cards

MINNETONKA, MINN.—(Feb. 14, 2011) — Datacard Group, the world leader  in secure ID and card personalization solutions, today announced its latest software application release, Datacard® CardWizard® software version 5.3.  This release—the result of extensive research and development—is the newest and most robust instant card issuance software featuring new functionality for smart card personalization.

Building on the strength of the existing CardWizard software capabilities—including custom background selection, optimum user interface and reporting functions, enhanced security and multiple language support—the CardWizard 5.3 software integrates Datacard® Affina® smart card software, enabling card issuers to build cost-effective smart card development and personalization into their card issuing environments.

Datacard Affina software is known for its compatibility with various card and payment schemes and has been successfully implemented in over 200 central card production environments for EMV-compliant programs. In addition, Datacard brand solutions issue five million smart cards everyday worldwide. 

With the ability to adapt to a variety of interfaces, card issuers can combine CardWizard software 5.3 with an array of Datacard card printers and PINpad devices to create flexible card issuance environments; including the newly interfaced Datacard® DC315GX and SE48 card issuance systems, which are RoHs compliant and ideal instant card issuance platforms for smart card specifications.  A central server platform stores keys and personalization applications that can drive multiple card personalization systems. The Datacard software generates smart card data, encrypts it and sends it to the delivery channel of choice in one simple step, making the data transfer process far less susceptible to data theft, errors or delays.

CardWizard 5.3 instant card issuance software is part of the Datacard Secure Issuance Anywhere™ infrastructure which includes scalable, flexible hardware, software, supplies, consultation and project management for any card issuance or personalization environment. The card programs can include central or instant issuance, PIN selection and PIN change, embossed or unembossed cards, mobile payments and NFC personalization, as well as contact, contactless and EMV-compliant applications.
